Thomas Berndorfer founded Connecting Software in Austria in 2004 — 100% self-financed, growing 30% annually, with offices in Austria, Slovakia, Portugal (Madeira), and the United States. The company built Connect Bridge, an enterprise middleware platform that translates any programming language of the last 40 years into SQL, allowing developers to work across any combination of enterprise systems.
In 2019, following an encounter with blockchain technology at Web Summit, Connecting Software built Truth Enforcer — a blockchain-based document sealing and authenticity verification solution that allows organisations to prove that a digital document is exactly what it claims to be, has not been altered, and has not been accessed by systems without authorisation. Connecting Software was named a Top 10 Blockchain Solution Provider in 2020. In 2025, Thomas was appointed Honorary Consul of Austria in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
